Why Driver Headroom Matters
LED drivers convert mains AC power to the low-voltage DC that LED strips and modules need. Running a driver at or near 100% capacity generates excess heat, degrades internal components, and dramatically shortens lifespan.
In concealed installations (coves, gypsum ceilings), heat has nowhere to escape. UAE ambient temperatures of 35-45°C compound the problem. The result: premature driver failure, flickering, and costly replacements in hard-to-access locations.
The solution is simple: derate. Load drivers to 70-80% of their rated capacity, and even less in high-heat or concealed conditions. This tool calculates the right headroom for your specific project.
